RULES:

¨      NO ALCOHOL CARRY-INS ALLOWED!  If you are observed (1st offense) carrying in alcohol, you and maybe your team will be asked to leave for the night.  For the 2nd offense, you will not be allowed to play for the remainder of the season.

¨      USA Volleyball Rules govern play for all leagues. 

¨      NO YOUNG CHILDREN ALLOWED IN THE SAND.

¨      Game times are 55 minutes.  The games will end 5 minutes before the next starting time

¨      NO make-up games will be allowed.  A match may be pre-played before its scheduled date if both teams can agree to a date and time.  The opposing team is not required to change its schedule.  If a common time and date cannot be reached the game will remain as scheduled, which may result in a forfeit for one of the teams.

¨      Captains should choose either a side or the serve for the first game, switch for the second game, and the loser of the second game chooses side or serve for the third.  Volleying for the serve is not required.

¨      Games are to 15 points win by 2, or the first team to 18.

¨      1 time-out is allowed per game for each team.  No time-outs are allowed the last 5 minutes of the match.

¨      Forfeit Rule - Every 5 minutes a game is forfeited, after 15 minutes the match is forfeited. 

¨      Each player must be on the roster and have signed the waiver form.  Players can be added to the roster at any time.

¨      An individual may play on as many teams as they choose, same or different leagues, as long as they are on the roster for each team.  A player may be a substitute for any team, same or different leagues, on the night of their league and no roster addition is required as long as a signed waiver/roster form is on file for their current team.

¨      The ball is dead or out of play if it crosses the plane of another court or the concrete.  A player’s momentum may carry himself or herself onto another court or the concrete but the ball can't be played from these areas.

¨      A player may not contact the net with any part of their body or clothing.  Only a player’s hair is allowed to touch the net during play. 

¨      A player may cross the centerline below the net provided it does not interfere with the opponent's play.  Incidental contact with an opponent is ignored unless it interferes with the ability to play the ball. 

¨      A block does not count as a hit.

¨      A player may have successive contacts with the ball during a single attempt to make the team’s first contact (serve or hit) provided the fingers are not used to direct the ball. 

¨      No attacking the serve.  When the ball crosses the net the player hitting the ball must not spike or block the serve.

¨      It is the responsibility of the team captain to discuss all disputes.  These leagues are intended to promote a sportsman like atmosphere.  It is the responsibility of each team to fairly call line violations.  All disputed calls should be replayed.

¨      BOTH Team Captains must verify the score sheet.  Any disputes should be settled before leaving the bar. 

¨      Captains and/or players are not permitted to change the standings, if there is a dispute please report it to the League Director or the bartender.

¨      At closing each night any score sheets not filled out will result in ZERO wins for both teams, No updating the standings, No exceptions!
